In 2023, UN Women Philippines Karen Davila, award-winning Filipino journalist to Marawi and Cotabato City to meet with former women combatants and Bangsamoro Islamic Women Auxiliary Brigade (BIWAB), a women arm of Moro Islamic Liberation Front who used to provide medical, food and non-food assistance during the war. In a highly attended event by government officials, development partners, advocates, and supportive personalities, UN Women Philippines unveiled its Country Programme Priorities for 2024–2028 last January 18, 2024.
