WEPS Awards

For the 2021 UN Women Asia Pacific Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards, Karen Davila advocated for businesses to "unstereotype" mindsets and make it the #NewNormal #WhenWomenLead.

16 Days of Activism

Each year, Karen Davila leads the country for its 18 Days of Activism campaign (from 25 November to 12 December) which calls for action against one of the world's most persistent violations of human rights – violence against women.

Announcement as UN WOMEN National Goodwill Ambassador

Karen Davila was appointed as the first UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador from the Philippines in August 2023. In that position, she will amplify critical issues and inspire change, drawing attention to the role of women in development and nation-building, and promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. Each year, Karen Davila leads the country for its 18 Days of Activism campaign (from 25 November to 12 December) which calls for action against one of the world's most persistent violations of human rights – violence against women.

Launch of the Country Programme Strategy 2024 

In a highly attended event by government officials, development partners, advocates, and supportive personalities, UN Women Philippines unveiled its Country Programme Priorities for 2024–2028 last January 18, 2024. Karen Davila moderated an engaging panel discussion, featuring Hon. Senator Loren Legarda and Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Hae Kyong Yu.
