#NOExcuses

NO EXCUSE! Walang palusot! Sinampal ka o sinapak dahil pagod siya? Hindi naman daw niya sinasadya. Pinipilit kang makipag-sex kahit ayaw mo? E asawa ka naman daw niya! Minumura ka. Minamaliit. Iniinsulto. E kasalanan mo raw! Tama na. Walang palusot. NO EXCUSE! Gender based violence yan! Today marks the start of 16 Days Of Activism Against Gender Based Violence 🇺🇳 Did you know that 1 in 3 women will experience GBV throughout their lifetime. The problem is we have been mind conditioned through the years to accept it - that somehow, it may have been also out fault. Or we rationalize - it will only happen once. We must stop. Sa lahat ng aking mga kabaro, kapwa babae - let us stand together in solidarity to fight against VICTIM BLAMING and any form of tolerance against diminishing the worth of women. Sa lahat ng nangangailangan ng tulong, WALANG DAPAT IKAHIYA. Please call 911 and @lunascollective_ and share your story. Get help! FRIENDS, PLEASE POST YOUR OWN STOP GBV ON YOUR IG FEED! You may use the graphics I have posted to spread the word! Salamat 🇺🇳 @unwomen @unwomenasia. Get more information from the links below.

WOMEN CHAMPIONS 🇵🇭 The fight for women’s rights in the Philippines has been a long and hard road with women whose names may be unfamiliar to many of us. Take AIDA SANTOS MARANAN, Martial Law survivor, women’s rights & gender justice advocate since the 1970s, founder of the first autonomous women’s liberation movement. Her work is a valuable part of the rights we Filipinas enjoy today. And there are more. From community workers to high profile legislators who were principal authors of the VAWC Law, to advocates on and off camera… these are just some of them. As we close the #16daysofactivism #endgenderbasedviolence campaign, let us remember - our WORK is in the EVERYDAY 🇵🇭 Let us take inspiration from the women advocates who have come before us.
